It is critical to success that employees gain the necessary understanding of agile methods as quickly as possible in order to be able to use them.

Challange

The customer from the public sector wants to make its employees aware of the trends of digitalization. It is particularly important not to overburden the employees, but to inspire them and provide impetus for implementation in their own practice. In order to enable employees to critically examine developments, the focus should not only be on the potential but also on the risks of digitalization. Employees should be able to participate in an uncomplicated manner.


Together with the DXC Academy, DXC developed weekly Webex sessions as a livestream on trending topics in digitalization. The client's employees were able to informally dial in to these two-hour sessions.
The DXC Academy took part with sessions on the following topics:

Heraus­forderung
The "Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit" is converting its leadership model to digital leadership as part of the introduction of Scrum.
  • The concept of "digital leadership" is successfully used by employees from both the non-IT area and IT in the implementation of Scrum.
  • The insights gained with regard to the digital transformation are made available to a broad range of employees in the form of "inspiration talks" in order to get them excited about the digital transformation and agile methods.

The DXC Academy team designed training courses on the agile methods Scrum and Kanban.
Subsequently, operational SCRUM teams were supported by a Scrum Master from the DXC Academy. This support enabled GIZ to build up its own Scrum Masters and integrate them into the operational teams. The DXC Academy now supports the Scrum teams as an Agile Coach.

The client is Europe's leading consulting and systems house for the real estate industry. Around 50,000 users in Germany and abroad use the systems to manage around 8 million rental units.
In order to increase and present the project management skills that are essential for an IT service provider, the customer has designed and implemented a qualification and certification offensive for project managers in collaboration with the DXC Academy in accordance with the international standard of the IPMA (International Project Management Association).

Together with the customer, the DXC Academy sets up a combination course IPMA Level DCB.

Agile coaching in several international Scrum projects


Challange
The customer is faced with the challenge of being able to react more quickly to changing requirements and framework conditions as part of large IT projects - while at the same time facing increased cost pressure. To this end, agile methods such as Scrum should be introduced.
It is critical to success that employees acquire the necessary skills in agile project management as quickly as possible.

The DXC Academy first carried out a series of customized Scrum and Kanban training sessions with the respective Scrum teams at various European locations, after which the teams were systematically supported in the project by an agile coach from the DXC Academy to ensure the success of Scrum and Kanban.
The comprehensive agile coaching included, among other things:

  • Enabling the Scrum Master and Product Owner to perform their responsibilities and activities professionally

Challenge
As an extension of the product portfolio, the customer offers digitization products for the modernization of traditional communication channels for business and private customers.
The first step for sales staff is to generate demand for digitalization products among customers. To this end, they should be given methods and tools to clearly describe the benefits of the digitalization products to the customer. The key here is to move away from being a pure "salesperson" and establish the mind-set of a trusted advisor at eye level.

The DXC Academy team designed training courses to teach the mindset and the Business Analysis methodology.
The first building block involves teaching and acquiring new business analysis methods for the role and mindset of a trustworthy consultant at eye level when dealing with customers. The need for qualification and certification as well as the corresponding training management exceeded the capacities of the customer's personnel development department. They were looking for a full service partner that they could trust and that communicated directly with the employees.

The DXC Academy has developed the web-based software "Plattform für Lern- und Trainingsorganisation" (PLUTO), which is linked to the customer's purchasing system. Customers' employees can book training courses via their own website, which is directly linked to PLUTO. Training management, participant communication, the helpdesk, coordination of the trainer network and event controlling are all managed by the DXC Academy.
Solution

Result
The DXC Academy successfully manages over 200 training events and web sessions across Europe with 1,500 participants per year. This allows the client's HR development department to concentrate fully on its core business.
